Exchange Core Warranty Guidelines

Diesel Injection Pump and Injector

THE FOLLOWING SHALL APPLY TO EXCHANGE AND COMPLETELY OVERHAULED UNITS THAT ARE REBUILT BY DIESEL SPECIALTIES, INC. (Partially repaired units have NO warranty)
If rebuilt unit fails because of defect in material or workmanship within twelve (12) months, Diesel Specialties, Inc. will repair or replace, without charge, all such rebuilt units that have failed provided:
A. That unit has not failed from ingress of water or improper fuel.
B. That unit has not failed from lack of lube oil.
C. That unit has not failed from cold water sprayed on pump while engine was running.
D. That unit has not been subjected to abuse or improper installation methods.
E. That seal wires and sealing are intact.

THE FOLLOWING SHALL APPLY TO OUR TURBO WARRANTY
If rebuilt unit fails because of defect in material or workmanship within twelve (12) months, Diesel Specialties, Inc. will repair or replace, without charge, all such rebuilt units that have failed provided:
A. That unit has not failed from ingress of foreign material causing damage.
B. That unit has not failed from lack of lube oil.
C. That unit has not failed because of dirty oil.
D. That unit has not developed external lube oil leaks due to partly plugged air cleaner or partly plugged crankcase vent.
E. That unit has not been subjected to abuse or improper installation methods.

AFTER MARKET PRODUCTS WILL CARRY WHATEVER WARRANTY IS PROVIDED BY THE MANUFACTURER OF THE PRODUCT ACCORDING TO THEIR WARRANTY TERMS.

DIESEL SPECIALTIES, INC.’S, DIESEL SPECIALTIES OF OMAHA INC'S, SOLE LIABILITY HEREUNDER SHALL BE TO REPAIR OR REPLACE, WITHOUT COST, ANY PARTS WHICH HAVE FAILED UNDER THIS WARRANTY. THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER ANY LABOR OR TRAVEL FOR REPLACEMENT OF UNITS, ADJUSTMENTS, REPAIRS OR ANY OTHER WORK DONE ON UNITS SUPPLIED.  NO OTHER WARRANTY, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED SHALL APPLY TO ANY SALES UNDER THIS ADJUSTMENT.

Warranty Limitation and Exclusion: This limited warranty is to the original Purchaser only.  This limited
warranty does not cover damage to the Product or otherwise resulting from improper installation, accident, mistake, disaster, misuse, abuse, negligence, alteration, modification or improper maintenance or repair.

Disclaimer of Unstated Warranties: The Warranty printed above is the only warranty applicable to this purchase.  All other warranties, expressed or implied, including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose are disclaimed.

Limitation of Liability: It is understood and agreed that Diesel Specialties, Inc.’s, Diesel Specialties of Omaha Inc.’s, liability whether in contract, in tort, under any warranty, in negligence or otherwise shall not exceed the amount of the purchase price paid for the product and under no circumstances shall Diesel Specialties, Inc., Diesel Specialties of Omaha Inc., be liable for special, indirect or consequential damages.  The price stated for the equipment is a consideration in limiting Diesel Specialties, Inc.’s, Diesel Specialties of Omaha Inc.’s liability.

TERMS: NET 30 DAYS-TRADE DISCOUNT WILL BE DISALLOWED IF NOT PAID WITHIN 30 DAYS
OF INVOICE DATE.  ACCOUNTS WHICH REMAIN UNPAID 60 DAYS AFTER INVOICE DATE, WILL
BE PLACED ON A C.O.D. BASIS.  PARTS RETURNED AFTER 10 WORKING DAYS ARE SUBJECT TO A 15% RESTOCKING FEE.

Core Acceptance Policy

 1. Core must be part number for part number or an acceptable compromise.
 2. Core must be a complete assembly, not having been previously disassembled.
 3. Core must not be badly damaged from mishandling.
 4. All cores returned should have “core tag” attached.
 5. Cores received without “core return” tag or instructions will be considered cores for “repair and return” to you.
 6. Cores damaged in fires or wrecks may have a lesser or no core value.
 7. Nozzle bodies severely damaged from difficult removal may have a lesser or no core value.
 8. Cores must be shipped prepaid.
 9. Seized cores may have a lesser or no core value.
10. Cores must be from a running engine and not assembled from scrap parts.
11. Cores are due within 30 days of invoice date.

Guidelines for Exchanges

Flat Rate Exchange:
The decision to purchase “flat rate exchange” should be done prior to any work being done on the unit.  The selling price for a flat rate exchange is determined from the average repair costs of a large number of units as they come off running engines.
